Verse 29 is found in chapter 1 of 1 Chronicles. The descendants of Ishmael are presented separately from the line of Isaac, distinguishing the family branches descended from Abraham. The Chronicler thus preserves the memory of the patriarchal promises and genealogies without confusing Isaac’s line with other legitimate branches of Abraham’s family.
