Verse 32 is found in chapter 1 of 1 Chronicles. The descendants of Keturah remind us that Abraham had a broader family than the line of Isaac. Nevertheless, the genealogy maintains a distinction between the various family branches. This organization helps show that Israel’s election did not depend simply on biological descent from Abraham, but on the specific line through which the covenant story developed.
