Verse 10 is found in chapter 14 of 1 Chronicles. The Philistines react to David’s consolidation, and he consults God before confronting them. In two successive battles, David receives different instructions and gains victories. The repeated consultation demonstrates that a previous victory does not mean later decisions can be made automatically; David must seek God’s direction again.
