Verse 12 is found in chapter 3 of 1 Chronicles. The genealogy of the kings after Solomon follows the line of Judah through the period of exile. The succession includes well-known kings from Judah’s history and shows that the Davidic line continued despite political and spiritual crises. The genealogy therefore sustains the importance of David’s house within the history following the divided kingdom.
