Verse 18 is found in chapter 5 of 1 Chronicles. The tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh appear united in a war against neighboring peoples. The text attributes their victory to God’s help rather than merely to military ability. The theological interpretation is explicit: the battle illustrates the relationship between trust, calling upon God, and victory.
