Verse 19 is found in chapter 1 of 1 Kings. Nathan informs Bathsheba about Adonijah’s attempt and instructs her to remind David of his promise concerning Solomon. The prophetic intervention turns the succession into an issue that does not depend solely on palace maneuvering. Bathsheba and Nathan act together to bring the king to a decision. The scene also shows how the memory of a previous promise can become the basis for intervention during a political crisis.
