Verse 5 is found in chapter 14 of 1 Kings. Abijah, Jeroboam’s son, becomes ill, and Jeroboam sends his wife disguised to consult the prophet Ahijah. Although the prophet is old and can no longer see, God reveals to him who is coming. The episode emphasizes that no disguise can hide reality from God. The son’s illness opens the way for the announcement of judgment against Jeroboam’s house.
