Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

Verse 6 is found in chapter 22 of 1 Kings. Ahab and Jehoshaphat consider recovering Ramoth-gilead. Ahab’s court prophets announce success, while Jehoshaphat asks to consult a prophet of the Lord. Micaiah appears as an uncomfortable voice against the favorable consensus. The episode establishes a contrast between the number of prophets and the faithfulness of the word: a majority may affirm what the king wants to hear without necessarily representing God’s true message.
