Verse 41 is found in chapter 7 of 1 Kings. The chapter summarizes the objects made for the temple and states that Solomon places there the treasures dedicated by David. The construction does not appear as a project disconnected from the past: Solomon completes work for which David had prepared materials. Continuity between the two reigns is important for understanding the Davidic promise and Jerusalem’s development as a political and cultic center.
