And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

Verse 5 is found in chapter 8 of 1 Kings. Solomon gathers the elders and leaders of Israel to bring the ark into the temple. The priests place the ark in the Most Holy Place, and the cloud fills the house of the Lord. The cloud functions as a sign of divine presence and recalls God’s manifestations throughout the tabernacle’s history. The temple is therefore inaugurated not only by its architecture but by the manifestation of God’s presence.
