Verse 28 is found in chapter 25 of 1 Samuel. Abigail meets David, bows before him, and asks him not to act out of revenge. She recognizes his future reign and affirms that the Lord is establishing a secure house for David. David accepts the correction and blesses God for sending Abigail to stop him. The scene shows that even David, God’s chosen one, needs correction. Divine providence works through a wise woman who prevents the future king from bearing unnecessary guilt.
