Verse 12 is found in chapter 18 of 2 Chronicles. Micaiah announces a message contrary to Ahab’s prophets and describes a situation in which the king will be led into battle toward his death. His refusal to adapt the message demonstrates the prophet’s critical role before royal power. Ahab responds by imprisoning him, but the narrative presents his word as true in contrast to the voices favorable to the king.
