Verse 14 is found in chapter 23 of 2 Chronicles. Athaliah discovers Joash’s proclamation and accuses the conspirators of treason. Jehoiada orders her removed from the temple area and she is subsequently executed. The scene represents the removal of usurpation and the restoration of dynastic and cultic order in Jerusalem.
