Verse 10 is found in chapter 28 of 2 Chronicles. Judah is defeated by Aram and Israel, and many inhabitants are taken captive. A prophet named Oded intervenes before Israel’s army and demands that the captives be released. The Israelites obey and provide clothing, food, and transportation. The episode demonstrates that even amid warfare between related peoples, there is a moral limit imposed by God.
