Verse 18 is found in chapter 33 of 2 Chronicles. Manasseh’s death is followed by the brief reign of Amon, who does not humble himself before God and dies in a conspiracy. The people execute the conspirators and place Josiah on the throne. The transition shows how the consequences of royal conduct affect the stability of the royal house.
