Verse 24 is found in chapter 34 of 2 Chronicles. Huldah the prophetess confirms that the judgment announced by the law will reach Judah, but declares that Josiah will not personally witness the catastrophe because of his humility. The divine response distinguishes between future judgment upon the nation and the king’s personal response. Humility before God’s word receives specific recognition.
