Verse 30 is found in chapter 34 of 2 Chronicles. Josiah gathers the people and publicly reads the Book of the Law. He renews the covenant before God and removes the remaining abominations. The reform reaches the entire community and is not limited to the king’s private decisions. Public reading of Scripture becomes an instrument of covenant renewal.
