Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of the LORD was finished: and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated; and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among the treasures of the house of God.

Verse 1 is found in chapter 5 of 2 Chronicles. Solomon brings into the temple the objects David had dedicated, and the ark is then moved into the Most Holy Place. The presence of the ark connects the new temple with the tabernacle and the entire history of the covenant. The temple does not replace Israel’s previous history but becomes the new permanent expression of centralized worship in Jerusalem.
