And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.

Verse 13 is found in chapter 1 of 2 Kings. The third captain approaches Elijah differently. Instead of demanding that he come down, he acknowledges his own vulnerability and pleads for his life and the lives of his men. This difference introduces an important nuance into the narrative: divine power should not be interpreted as authorization for human arrogance. The humble request receives a different response. The angel of the Lord orders Elijah to accompany him. The scene emphasizes that prophetic authority does not depend on a personal power struggle, but on God’s word and on the willingness of human beings to recognize it.
