Verse 11 is found in chapter 10 of 2 Samuel. The Ammonites realize the seriousness of their action and hire Aramean forces. Joab finds himself surrounded and divides his troops between two fronts, trusting that the Lord will do what he considers good. The battle ends with the enemies retreating. Joab’s statement combines military responsibility with theological dependence: Israel must act courageously, but the final outcome belongs to God.
