Verse 13 is found in chapter 1 of Daniel. Daniel’s proposal to test a different diet for ten days turns religious faithfulness into a practical and verifiable decision. The narrative does not present the diet as a universal spiritual formula, but as a concrete part of the situation of these young men in Babylon. The favorable response of the overseer also shows how God can preserve His servants through ordinary circumstances and prudent decisions.
