Verse 36 is found in chapter 4 of Daniel. The king’s recovery includes the restoration of his dignity and authority, but the theological conclusion is found in his confession that God acts with truth and justice. The chapter began with a powerful monarch and ends with a humbled monarch who recognizes a higher authority. Human greatness does not disappear, but it is placed in its proper position under God’s rule.
