Verse 22 is found in chapter 6 of Daniel. Darius discovers that Daniel has survived and hears that God sent His angel to shut the lions’ mouths. Daniel attributes his preservation to his innocence before God and also before the king. Later, the accusers receive the punishment they had sought for Daniel. The judicial reversal confirms Daniel’s narrative pattern: faithfulness is vindicated, and the conspiracy turns against its authors.
