Verse 24 is found in chapter 14 of Deuteronomy. The tithe of agricultural produce and its consumption before the Lord teach recognition of God as the source of provision. Every third year the tithe is also allocated to Levites, foreigners, orphans, and widows. The legislation unites worship and social responsibility, making resources dedicated to God also support vulnerable people within the community.
