When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.

Verse 24 is found in chapter 23 of Deuteronomy. Laws concerning escaped slaves, cultic prostitution, interest, and the fulfillment of vows regulate different forms of economic and religious relationships. An escaped slave must not automatically be returned to his former master, while cultic prostitution is prohibited. Vows, meanwhile, must be fulfilled seriously, and the poor must not be denied access to the produce of the fields.
