Verse 15 is found in chapter 31 of Deuteronomy. God announces to Moses that Israel will turn away after entering the land and commands him to write a song that will serve as a witness against the people. Joshua is again confirmed as successor. The section introduces an important tension: even after all the warnings, God anticipates future unfaithfulness while continuing to prepare Joshua to lead the people according to his purpose.
