Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:

Verse 11 is found in chapter 8 of Deuteronomy. Moses again warns against forgetting the Lord when Israel achieves economic and military prosperity. Wealth can create the illusion that its own strength obtained the land. Therefore the people must remember that God is the one who gives the ability to produce wealth and remains faithful to the covenant. Forgetting God would lead to the same destruction that affected the nations expelled from the land.

So hüte dich nun, daß du des HERRN, deines Gottes, nicht vergessest, damit daß du seine Gebote und seine Gesetze und Rechte, die ich dir heute gebiete, nicht hältst;
Guarda-te que não te esqueças do SENHOR teu Deus, deixando de guardar os seus mandamentos, e os seus juízos, e os seus estatutos que hoje te ordeno;
