Verse 13 is found in chapter 18 of Ezekiel. The righteous son of a wicked father does not automatically bear his father’s guilt, while a son who repeats wickedness will be responsible for his own actions. God’s justice is presented as impartial and morally coherent. A person’s ancestry does not inevitably determine their spiritual destiny.
