Verse 7 is found in chapter 3 of Ezekiel. The scroll Ezekiel receives contains words of lamentation, mourning, and woe, yet he must eat it. The image means that the message must be internalized before being proclaimed. Although its content announces judgment, it is sweet in the prophet’s mouth, showing that receiving God’s word can be good even when proclaiming it is painful.
