Verse 12 is found in chapter 35 of Ezekiel. Edom will be desolate because it declared that Israel and Judah would be its possession. The prophecy condemns the attempt to seize an inheritance God had assigned. Rejoicing over the ruin of others also becomes a reason for judgment.
