Verse 5 is found in chapter 3 of Ezra. The celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles shows that restoration includes recovering Israel’s worship calendar. The sacrifices are performed according to the prescribed ordinances, and the daily burnt offerings continue. After the exile, the people do not invent a new form of worship, but seek to rebuild their relationship with God according to the tradition of the Law.
