Verse 12 is found in chapter 2 of Hosea. God announces that he will temporarily withdraw the agricultural products and celebrations that Israel had turned into occasions of false worship. Nakedness and shame symbolize the exposure of the unfaithfulness that had remained hidden beneath religious and economic prosperity. The language of "days of the Baals" identifies the problem as a deliberate breach of faithfulness to the Lord.
