The verse 14 is found in chapter 5 of Isaiah. The six woes denounce different expressions of corruption: accumulation of property, excessive drinking, indifference to God’s work, moral relativism, pride, and judicial corruption. The chapter ends by presenting a foreign nation as an instrument of judgment. Unjust prosperity is not interpreted as a permanent blessing, but as a condition that can lead to ruin.
