The verse 7 is found in chapter 59 of Isaiah. Sin is described as a barrier produced by the people’s own iniquity, not by a lack of power in God. Injustice, violence, and lies contaminate collective life. In the absence of an intercessor, Yahweh himself intervenes with justice and establishes a covenant through his Spirit and word.
