The verse 10 is found in chapter 6 of Isaiah. Isaiah’s vision in the temple introduces the concept of Yahweh’s absolute holiness. Before the vision, the prophet recognizes his own impurity and that of his people; the coal taken from the altar symbolizes purification before the mission. When Isaiah responds, “Here am I,” prophetic calling becomes linked to an experience of grace and to proclaiming a message that will encounter resistance.
