As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!
A verse can bring hope. Share this message of faith with someone you care about.
The verse 2 is found in chapter 64 of Isaiah. The prayer asks God to tear open the heavens and descend, returning to the language of a divine manifestation capable of transforming reality. The people recognize that their own righteousness is insufficient and confess their sins. The potter image expresses radical dependence upon the Creator, while the final plea asks how long Zion will remain abandoned.
