The verse 22 is found in chapter 11 of Jeremiah. The inhabitants of Anathoth conspire against Jeremiah, and the prophet compares his situation to a lamb led to the slaughter. Divine revelation allows him to understand that his own neighbors are planning to eliminate him. The judgment against Anathoth shows that opposition to the prophetic word is also subject to God’s judgment.
