The verse 8 is found in chapter 11 of Jeremiah. Jeremiah is commanded to proclaim the words of the covenant and recall the responsibility established since the days of the exodus. Covenant obedience is not a novelty introduced by the prophet, but Israel’s historical obligation. The people, however, refuse to listen and confirm the curse announced because of their disobedience.
