The verse 27 is found in chapter 13 of Jeremiah. The jars filled with wine symbolize a society that will be made drunk by judgment. Jeremiah calls the king, priests, and people to humble themselves before darkness arrives. The image of the woman exposed because of her unfaithfulness again represents idolatry as spiritual adultery and announces public humiliation.
