The verse 10 is found in chapter 16 of Jeremiah. Jeremiah receives exceptional commands: not to marry, not to participate in mourning, and not to participate in feasts. His own life becomes a sign of the imminence of judgment. Exile will be so radical that it will alter the normal structures of family, mourning, and celebration.
