The verse 15 is found in chapter 19 of Jeremiah. Jeremiah breaks a clay jar in the Valley of Ben-Hinnom as a sign of destruction that cannot be repaired. The place associated with abominable sacrifices will become a scene of judgment. The symbolic action turns an abstract sentence into a physical image of the irreversibility of the approaching disaster.
