The verse 10 is found in chapter 20 of Jeremiah. Jeremiah expresses one of the book’s most intense confessions: he feels seduced by the mission while being humiliated by its consequences. God’s word is like a fire shut up in his bones, impossible to contain. Yet the lament ends in an existential crisis, showing the psychological and spiritual cost of prophetic ministry without turning suffering into a lack of faith.
