The verse 4 is found in chapter 24 of Jeremiah. The two baskets of figs appear after Judah’s initial exile and serve as a sign concerning the deportees and those who remained in Jerusalem. The good figs represent those who will be restored and receive a heart to know God. The bad figs symbolize those who remain under judgment because of their persistence in rebellion.
