The verse 26 is found in chapter 25 of Jeremiah. The cup of the wine of wrath represents judgment that will reach numerous nations. Jerusalem drinks first, but the reach extends to peoples and kingdoms. The image shows that divine judgment is not exclusive to Israel and that the nations are also subject to Yahweh’s moral authority.
