The verse 2 is found in chapter 28 of Jeremiah. Hananiah breaks Jeremiah’s yoke and announces a rapid liberation from Babylon. Jeremiah responds that the prophet who announces peace must be tested by the fulfillment of his word. Hananiah dies that same year, becoming an example of the seriousness of speaking in God’s name without having received his message.
