The verse 12 is found in chapter 3 of Jeremiah. Judah receives a warning by observing the unfaithfulness of northern Israel, but it is also called to return. The future includes a restoration in which the former kingdoms will be reunited and Jerusalem will be called Yahweh’s throne. The promise transcends the historical division between Israel and Judah and points toward a reunited community under God.
