The verse 14 is found in chapter 30 of Jeremiah. Judah’s wound is described as incurable from a human perspective because its own sins produced the sickness. Nevertheless, God promises restoration and punishment for those who devoured it. The conclusion again introduces the image of Yahweh’s whirlwind, indicating that future restoration does not eliminate judgment upon wickedness.
