Verse 5 is found in chapter 1 of Job. The prologue presents Job as a blameless man who fears God and turns away from evil, whose prosperity is expressed through family, possessions, and social position. From the beginning, the scene establishes that his later suffering will not be presented as a direct consequence of sinful behavior. Job’s integrity therefore becomes the starting point of the book’s theological conflict.
