Verse 14 is found in chapter 1 of Joel. The priests are given responsibility for calling a fast and solemn assembly. The agricultural crisis thus becomes a spiritual crisis requiring gathering, humility, and seeking God. The expression “day of the Lord” expands the meaning of the disaster and presents it as a manifestation of divine intervention.
