Verse 16 is found in chapter 17 of Joshua. The descendants of Joseph consider their territory insufficient because they are numerous. Joshua responds that they can clear the forest in the hill country and effectively expand the available space. When they mention the iron chariots of the Canaanites, Joshua insists that although they are strong, they can be driven out. The response combines military realism with confidence in the ability to occupy the land God has assigned.
